Cybertecture Academy 2018, the 6th edition of summer school, will be an exciting 7 day summer course for children interested in design, innovation, technology and architecture. This year, the Cybertecture Academy 2018 will be carried out in partnership with Google and Uber to bring an exciting series of fun educational activities that is designed to stimulate and excite participants to find their passions to be designers, inventors, technologists and architects in the future. The course will be run from the studios of James Law Cybertecture where talks, projects and team building activities in the context of a real design studio, will allow children to experience a future in design. This is further enhanced with a full day activity at Google HK, where we will visit their innovative office and have interaction with their software engineers to learn how big data and design is the new trend. We will also Hava a full day activity with Uber HK, where we will visit their innovative workspace where young engineers, computer scientists and designers work to build and run their operations. The design project at Cybertecture Academy 2018 in partnership with UBER will be a UBER Skyport for Air Taxis in Hong Kong. Uber will also host some fun activities for our participants. The academy will also visit the new iconic Victoria Dockside project by New World Development to meet the developer, architect and engineers of this new landmark of Hong Kong. Also there will be a collaboration with ESRI China Hong Kong to visit their office to learn about GIS and how its used for architectue and urban design. Other sessions will include classes in computer design, animation, modelling, LEGO building (of a StarWars object) and interaction with past graduates of Cybertecture Academy who are now studying architecture, design and other course, who will return to share their experiences with this year’s youngsters on how to apply to university, and what is life like post high school. The course will culminate in a finale presentation by the students to a high calibre set of invited guests from the architecture, technology, real estate and education institutions to comment and give advice to the students on their final project and to advice parents on the possible future educational and career paths for their children.
